Summer updates from Parker, CO 6/23/02 - 5:30 PM Well I've been here for nearly a month now and the time is really flying by. Exactly four weeks ago I drove into town, not really knowing anyone and not exactly knowing what to expect. Now I really feel like I am in the swing of things. We've been on several trips, one to Six Flags in downtown Denver and another to a Colorado Rockies baseball game. I play basketball with a group of about ten every Tuesday after lunch. I've gotten several opportunities to spend time with the Young's, the family I am staying with. Just this morning I was talking to a 15 year old pilot and I'm probably going to get to fly with him next Saturday. This upcoming week things will be kicking into high gear. There is a lot to do to prepare for July. Middle School camp at Camp Como is the first week of July and CIY in Gunnison, CO is the second. Then we come home for a week, the first Sunday of which I will be preaching, and then a large group leaves to go to Mexico leaving me to hold down the fort. This week I've got to write a sermon, plan a bunch of games, create a lesson plan for camp and finish up a video class from LCC. Such is the life of a student ministry intern, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm having a lot of fun and I get to serve God at the same time. Thanks for all of your support and your prayers. God Bless.
