Summer updates from
Parker, CO
6/14/02
- 11:30 PM Well I promised pictures and
I've gotten around to including them this time.

This is the church I am working at,
Southeast. I'm
working mainly with
two guys. Jeremy Snoberger (left), the Student Ministry Director, is
who I am working directly with. He has been at the church since
September of '01. I am also working a lot with Jeff Spille (right),
the Associate Student Minister. His main responsibility is music but
he is involved in many parts of the ministry. They're both really
cool guys and I'm really looking forward to learning from them.
Chances are a lot of you have heard about the fires around here and since
I'm just south of
Denver
(where the national media is saying the fire is). I thought you
might like an update on that. Despite what the national media has
implied, there isn't really much danger here. The fire is 5x bigger
than any other fire in Colorado history, but it never really threatened
Parker. However, last Sunday the sky was filled with
smoke from the fire which, at the time, was 55 miles away. I took
this picture outside of the church on Sunday afternoon. It was
pretty weird. Jeremy commented that we had better watch out, the sun
had turned blood red. Other than having to breath smoke for a few
days and getting a thin layer of soot everywhere, we are totally fine.
I am still having a great time. Living in Colorado
for the summer...going to BBQs...hanging out with kids...going to
amusement parks...doing what I love and serving God all at the same time;
it's a rough life. Thanks for all of your support and your
prayers. God Bless.
